The invention relates to a method and a device for obtaining information relating to a bone fracture, especially an orbital floor fracture (11). According to the invention, produced layer images are subjected to image processing (2), e.g. by means of computer tomography (1), in order to obtain fracture image data from which information concerning the size of the fractured area is derived; dimensional values concerning the fractured area are taken from the fracture image data obtained by means of image processing (2) of the individual layer images; and, on the basis of said values collected by means of the layer images, a surface evaluation is carried out in order to represent the extent of the fracture (11).
