PURPOSE: A cooling efficiency improvement apparatus of a piston is provided to improve endurance, and to prevent oil aeration by restricting sticking of a piston ring and by enhancing cooling efficiency of the piston with keeping oil in the passage for a long time. CONSTITUTION: A closed loop passage(7) for circulating oil is formed in a piston(1), and an oil inlet is vertically formed in the passage. A first outlet(8) is formed vertically downward for an oil pan, and a second outlet is inclined for an end of a connecting rod. A cylindrical shutoff member(20) is combined with the first outlet by fitting or screwing to prevent discharge of oil through the first outlet, and a threaded part is formed around the shutoff member. Cooling efficiency is improved by keeping oil in the flow passage for a long time, and oil aeration is prevented by flowing oil along the connecting rod.
