PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a high silicon cast iron with improved acid resistance by simplification of manufacturing process and stabilization of chemical elements is provided. CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing a high silicon cast iron includes the steps of heating a molten metal comprising Si 13.5 to 15.5 wt.%, C 0.7 to 1.1 wt.%, Mn less than 2.2 wt.%, one or two metals selected from Cr 1 to 5 wt.%, Mo 1 to 5 wt.%, a balance of Fe and other inevitable impurities over 1650 deg.C; pouring the molten metal into a ladle in which misch metal is contained in an amount of 0.1 to 0.4 wt.% based on the weight of molten metal to be poured into the ladle; controlling the temperature of the misch metal added molten metal to the temperature range of 1270 to 1350 deg.C; and pouring the misch metal added molten metal into a mold.
