摘要

The present invention relates to a use of antisense oligonucleotides as an AIDS therapeutic agent. More precisely,the present invention relates to a novel use of antisense oligonucleotides as an AIDS therapeutic agent which include nucleotide derivatives in which five-membered ribose, a natural nucleotide sugar, is substituted with six-membered azasugar, and consisting of P=S backbone. Oligonucleotides of the present invention have low toxicity against cells and are working outside of cells to inhibit the viral attachment of HIV, with wide anti-viral activity against a broad spectrum of HIV variants. Therefore, oligonucleotides of the present invention can be used as one of effective AIDS therapeutic agent.
