A thermoluminescent detector comprises a covering layer made from silicone resin with finely divided pigment particles. The covering layer is coded by quantitatively vaporizing regions of the layer with a laser after patterning. The covering layer is 30-50 microns m thick. An Independent claim is also included for the production of a thermoluminescent detector comprising coating the thermoluminescent crystals with pigmented silicone resin by spraying, pre-hardening the covering layer produced at 100 deg C for 15 minutes, coding the coating by vaporizing regions of the layer with a laser after patterning, and post-hardening the coded layer at 170-400 deg C. Preferred Features: The pigment particles are black iron oxide particles having a particle size of 2-4 microns m.
