<p>The invention concerns a method for obtaining hydrophilic polymers in powder form of low grain size distribution, based on invert emulsion polymerisation followed by azeotropic distillation of water then a distillation of the organic phase. The inventive hydrophilic polymers are useful in various applications such as water treatment and sludge dehydration. They can also be used as retention agent in the paper making industry and as thickening agents. They can likewise be used to control water uptake and hence moisture content in materials when dispersed therein.</p> |
