Configuration and maintenance method for terminal connected to telecommunications network, by transmitting configuration message to terminal based on input data

On the service node (SRV) side of the network (PSTN), a configuration message containing configuration parameters for the terminal is created based on data destined for the terminal (GEG,GEG'). The data may be input by means of an input device (PEC) provided for the network. The service node creates a network connection to the terminal and transmits the message to the terminal. On the terminal side, the configuration message is received via the terminal interface (TSS,TSS'), buffered and the configuration of the terminal is modified according to the configuration parameters. An Independent claim is also included for a terminal.
