<p>Prior to moulding stainless steel powder is combined with 0.25-2% of an additive consisting of at least 10% Sn and up to 90% Cu and/or Ni. The stainless steel may be mixed with powdered additive and/or may be coated with additive e.g. by precipitation of salts of the required metal(s) which are then reduced in a hydrogen atmosphere. The coated stainless steel powder may be moulded by rolling, compacting, isostatic pressing, slip casting or hot pressing.</p> |
