A method for detecting a hydrogen radical in water or an aqueous solution which comprises adding a sodium salt of 3, 5-dibromo-4-nitrosobenzenesulfonic acid (DBNBS) to a sample and detecting a color caused by absorption characteristics of the resulting solution; a method for the quantitative analysis of the hydrogen radical which comprises blowing a hydrogen gas through a solution of 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) having an absorption near 517 nm and a solution of a sodium salt of 3, 5-dibromo-4-nitrosobenzenesulfonic acid (DBNBS) in the presence of a platinum black at a constant rate, and determining the concentration of a hydrogen radical using a calibration curve C in a graph illustrating the relationship between the absorbance of the absorption near 450 nm ascribed to a DBNBS azo compound and the concentration of a hydrogen radical.
|
