The arrangement has first and second inductors (W1,W2) supplied with alternating current. A controller (2,3) is provided for setting the angular frequency of the current through the first and second inductors and for setting a phase displacement angle between the current in the first and second inductors. An Independent claim is also included for the method of reducing the sound level during the inductive heating of a material.
