<p>A method of bonding a substance to be incorporated to the free ends of water-soluble polymer chains which are bonded at the other ends to a substrate surface so as to form a brush-like structure and have, at the free ends, reactive functional groups capable of reacting with the substance to be incorporated, characterized by reacting the substance to be incorporated with the reactive functional groups in the presence of a water-soluble polymer which has the ability to accelerate the bonding. Thus, the reactive functional groups present at the free ends of water-soluble polymer chains bonded to a substrate surface so as to form a brush-like structure can be efficiently reacted with a substance to be incorporated which is reactive with the reactive functional groups, whereby the substance to be incorporated can be bonded to the ends of the polymer chains at a high efficiency.</p> |
