A method for detecting a hydrogen radical in water or an aqueous solution which comprises adding a sodium salt of 3,5−dibromo−4−nitrosobenzenesulfonic acid(DBNBS)to a sample and detecting a color caused by absorption characteristics of the resulting solution;a method for the quantitative analysis of the hydrogen radical which comprises blowing a hydrogen gas through a solution of 1,1−diphenyl−2−picrylhydrazyl(DPPH)having an absorption near 517 nm and a solution of a sodium salt of 3,5−dibromo−4−nitrosobenzenesulfonic acid(DBNBS)in the presence of a platinum black at a constant rate,and determining the concentration of a hydrogen radical using a calibration curve C in a graph illustrating the relationship between the absorbance of the absorption near 450 nm ascribed to a DBNBS azo compound and the concentration of a hydrogen radical. |
