Cap for opening small containers (6) has a central aperture (3) which is extended inwards to form a sharp-edged tube (4) which pierces the top (8) of the container. The sides of the cap rest on the support surface when the top is pierced and prevent the container from tipping. An Independent claim is also included for a kit consisting of the container and cap.
