A thin sanitary paper roll and thin sanitary paper for thin sanitary paper roll, the thin sanitary paper roll comprising one or two sheets of thin sanitary paper wound thereon, wherein a thin sanitary paper roll of 2− or 3− ply is placed horizontally on a horizontal surface with the center axis thereof positioned horizontally, a circular plate indenter with an area of 2 cm2 disposed on the outer peripheral surface of the shell part thereof at the upper center is pressed against the paper roll vertically with pressing forces of 0.5 and 50 gf/cm2 at least at their respective stages, and a difference between the depths by pressing is in the range of 2.5 to 3.5 mm; the thin sanitary paper for thin sanitary paper roll having a winding density of 0.68 to 0.74 m/cm2 determined as a value obtained by dividing a winding length by a roll cross section, wherein paper specimen is compressed to the maximum compression load of 50 gf/cm2 between steel plates having a circular flat surface of 2 cm2 in compression area, and the linearity of a displacement curve for load and thickness is 0.2500 to 0.3300 for 1−ply and 0.3400 to 0.3700 for 2−ply, and the thickness at the load of 50 gf/cm2 is 0.1400 mm or more for 1−ply and 0.2500 mm or more for 2−ply.
