PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an activated charcoal with a high strength, which has a high absorbability and an excellent desulfurization capability and is bearable to a recycling use in a dry desulfurization and denitration process in a moving bed system. SOLUTION: A main material, which is a semi-coke prepared by applying a low-temperature carbonization to a coal at temperatures of 300-600 deg.C, and an auxiliary raw material, which is a coal having a caking property, are subjected to a mixing and forming process with a binder, so as to produce a formed product. The formed product is made into an activated carbon through carbonization and activation. A coal having a mobile hydrogen content of 30% or less, which is calculated from the result of NMR measurement at a temperature in a softened and melted state, is used as the raw material coal of the semi-coke which is the main material. A coal having a mobile hydrogen content of 35-45%, which is calculated from the result of NMR measurement at a temperature in a softened and melted state, is used as the coal having a caking property which is the auxiliary raw material. |
