METHOD FOR IGNITING THERMITE REACTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for igniting a thermite reaction, which easily ignites and keeps the thermite reaction, in a method for recovering metal in metal-containing scrap by supplying it to the thermite reaction. SOLUTION: In the method for recovering metal in the metal-containing scrap by disposing it to the thermite reaction, the ignition method is characterized by adding a chloride of 1-10 pts.wt. to a raw material for the thermite reaction of 100 pts.wt. as an ignition accelerator.
