PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch which can suppress crosstalk. SOLUTION: A 1st waveguide 11 and a 2nd waveguide 12 which cross each other at a specified angle are provided to a waveguide substrate PCL. On the surface of the waveguide substrate PCL, a groove T which linearly extends is formed crossing the center axes of the 1st waveguide 11 and 2nd waveguide 12 at the intersection part 13. The groove T is deep enough to expose the end surfaces of the 1st waveguide 11 and 2nd waveguide 12. The angle between a straight line extending at right angles to the flank of the groove T and the center axis of the 1st waveguide 11 at the intersection part 13 is different from the angle between the straight line extending at right angles to the flank of the groove T and the center axis of the 2nd waveguide 12, and the 1st waveguide 11 and 2nd waveguide 12 are arranged having their center axes asymmetrically at the intersection part 13 about the straight light extending at right angles to the flank of the groove T.
