PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling particle diameter of an aromatic polycarboxylic acid by which the desired particle diameter can be obtained in a short time. SOLUTION: The method for controlling particle diameter of the aromatic polycarboxylic acid is characterized by heating the aromatic polycarboxylic acid in solvent water in a state that the said aromatic polycarboxylic acid is partly dissolved in the solvent water.
