PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plug inserter, a plug extractor, and a plug attaching and detaching tool equipped with them which have very simple structures and can greatly be reduced in cost by minimizing the number of components. SOLUTION: The plug inserter 10 for an optical connector has a grip part 11, a 1st holding part 13 which holds a knob 2a in itself, and a projection part 19 which is inserted into an adapter while abutting against the rear end part of the knob 2a held in the 1st holding part 13 and is formed as one component. The plug extractor 20 has a grip part 21 and an engagement projection part 27 which holds a boot part 3b and is pulled out while engaging a window part 2d bored in the knob 2a and is formed as one component and the plug attaching and detaching tool 30 has the plug inserter 10 and plug extractor 20.
