PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for attaching a string to a lens cap of a camera without lacing the string pass through a hole, and to provide the lens cap obtained by the method. SOLUTION: In the case of injection-molding the lens cap of the camera in a metallic mold by using thermoplastic resin, a cap body (1) and a thickness part (2) positioned on the outer periphery of the cap body are formed and simultaneously a loss prevention string (3) is coated with the resin at the thickness part (2) to be integrated with the cap body 1.
