PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink for ink jet recording capable of keeping the size and the ejection speed of ink droplets, free from the defect of ejection trouble and having excellent dispersion or dissolution stability of the ink by preventing the dissolution of glass, silicon or silicon oxide brought into contact with the ink wherein at least a part of the ink jet printer member coming in contact with the ink is made of glass, silicon or silicon oxide. SOLUTION: The ink for ink jet recording has a total alkali metal content of <=700 ppm and contains a quaternary phosphonium ion expressed by formula A (R1 to R4 are each H, a 1-4C alkyl, a hydroxyalkyl or a halogenated alkyl) in an amount of >=30% based on the anionic compound included in the ink. |
