PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flow control valve that can offer stable and accurate flow control and is structurally simple and inexpensive. SOLUTION: A shaft 20 has a valve portion 21 at a tip, and moves linearly in a direction to insert the valve portion 21 in a valve bore 10 and the opposite direction. The shaft 20 is mounted with a valve seat 40 for closing the perimeter of the valve bore 10. The valve portion 21 has a hole portion 25 interconnecting a side wall thereof and the tip for insertion. When the valve portion 21 is moved over given travel from a closing position, the valve seat 40 uncloses the perimeter of the valve bore 10 to permit a minimal flow of gas to flow via the hole portion 25 of the valve portion 21.
