PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper holder which is easily handled, has excellent functions, and easily maintains excellent external appearance. SOLUTION: As a replacement for a conventional roll paper holder in which a roll paper formed in a cylindrical shape with a diameter R and a width W by rolling a paper or a plastic sheet is stored, the roll paper holder is provided with a face plate composing a face containing a standard line which is parallel to the center shaft of the roll paper, and a pair of flat plates which are orthogonal to the center shaft of the stored roll paper and opposed thereto in parallel with a slightly larger inside measure size distance than the width W. In this holder, the face plate has an opening part in a slit shape in which at least one part of the edge extending in the longitudinal direction crosses the standard line.
