PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording medium, which is excellent in the ink-jetted ink absorbing speed, the color difference (ΔE) of which with time after the images, characters or the like are recorded by jetting ink is small and further which can be substituted for a proof sheet because of being suitable for an ink jet recording, which is visually similar to a printed matter by printing such as by an offset printing, a gravure printing or the like in drape and feeling of the images, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording medium, at least two layers or a porous ink absorbing layer mainly made of a hydrolcite and a porous ink dyeing layer mainly made of alumina are laminated on one side of a support in the order named.
