PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarization isolating element in which exfoliation, blistering or the like owing to environmental change or the like can be prevented from being generated. SOLUTION: This polarization isolating element 1 has a transparent substrate 2, a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 3 laminated on the substrate 2, a birefringent film 5 on the surface of which uneven grids 4 are formed periodically and which is laminated on the layer 3, and an isotropic overcoat layer 6 laminated on the film 5. The film 5 is pressed and adhered to the layer 3 so that the adhesive strength of this element 1 can be enhanced in comparison to that of the conventional element 1. As a result, the resistance to wet heat and durability of the element 1 is enhanced and exfoliation, blistering or the like owing to environmental change or the like can be prevented form being generated. |
