PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit for automatically opening and closing double sliding sashes, which enables the sashes to be opened and closed, both automatically and manually, and to be automatically locked and which can be posteriorly attached to the sash mounting frame of the sashes already installed. SOLUTION: Assembled to a unit frame 5 mounted to or near a sash mounting frame 1 are: a first actuating member 8 connected to one of the sashes 2 of the double sliding sashes; a second actuating member 30 connected to the other of the sashes 3; a sash drive means 10 for driving the first actuating member 8 in the direction to open and close the sashes; a lock mechanism 14 for automatically locking both sashes 2 and 3 in fully closed positions; and an unlock means 15 for actuating the lock mechanism 14 for unlocking. |
