PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent outflow and scattering of a lubricant at the time of high speed rotation and to enhance cleanliness and reliability. SOLUTION: The fluid bearing device has a fixed shaft 2 with at least one end fixed; a flange 4 fixed to a neighborhood of an end of the fixed shaft 2; a sleeve 3 rotatably inserted to the fixed shaft 2; and a hub 6 continuously provided on the sleeve 3 or a rotation thrust plate 5 fixed to the sleeve 3 and opposed and close to the flange 4. A radial side dynamic pressure generation groove 10 is formed on at least any one of an outer periphery surface of the fixed shaft 2 or an inner periphery surface of the sleeve 3 and a thrust side dynamic pressure generation groove 11 is formed on at least one of the surfaces axially opposed to each other of the rotation thrust plate 5, the flange 4 and the sleeve 3. A lubricant 14 is retained in the radial side dynamic pressure generation groove 10 and the thrust side dynamic pressure generation groove 11. An outer periphery groove 20 is formed on the outer periphery surface of the fixed shaft 2 above the flange 4, i.e., above a gas/liquid border surface 15 of the lubricant 14. |
