PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved thermal insulating container which can be properly accommodative without requiring a substantial change of design and a rise of production cost and imparting the strength against impact to an initially unexpected condition of use wherein contents at the temperature of 90 deg.C or more are housed for a long period of time. SOLUTION: For the thermal insulating container made up with the surface of its thermal insulating layer 30 coated with a skin material, a material made from a resin made up by blending a propylene resin with polyethylene and having 10-30 Kj/m<2> of JIS K6758 Izot impact strength (0 deg.C with notch) is used for the external skin material 20, and a material made from a polypropylene resin and having 140-160 deg.C of Vicat softening temperature defined by JIS K6758 is used for the internal skin material 10.
