PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable processing of various work form with a lathe by giving a function to hold a work into various postures to the main shaft of a lathe, and attaining multi-functionalization of the lathe. SOLUTION: A tilt axis (A) slewing mechanism and a turn axis (B) slewing mechanism of work clamp 6 are provided at a tip part of the main shaft 5. While each of the tilt axis (A) slewing mechanism and the turn axis (B) slewing mechanism are made in a non-operational state, the work W is held by the work-clump 6, and by carrying out high-speed rotation with NC control axis for a principal-axis drive, an usual lathe processing can be performed. Also, by activating at least one of the tilt axis (A) slewing mechanism and the turn axis (B) slewing mechanism, the work is tilt-turned only a predetermined angle to the main shaft 5, and a processing to the work W from a desired angle is enabled.
