PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which a variety of remote operations can be carried out using a convenient operational terminal. SOLUTION: An external operation terminal 201 receives a Key input from a user and generates a command (304). On the printer body 101 side, a transmitted command is analyzed (305), an internal setting is read out (306), transmission data including that information is generated (307) and transmitted to the external operation terminal 201. At the external operation terminal 201, command analysis is performed (308) for the transmitted information and then a command is generated (310) and transmitted to the printer body 101. The transmitted command is interpreted by command analysis (311) and the printer body 101 is altered to a new setting. |
