PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure one-by-one delivery of paper sheets stacked on a stage, independently of their positions. SOLUTION: This paper sheet delivery device, wherein the paper sheets are fed to a carrying part 16 by a high friction part 4a formed in a certain angle range on the periphery face of a feed roller 4, the high friction part of the feed roller is separated from the faces of the paper sheets near a position where the carrying part grips the ends of the paper sheets, and then the paper sheets are picked out of a gate part G and carried by the carrying part, comprises preliminary feed means 15 provided on the front side in the direction of delivery of the stacked paper sheets stacked on the stage 1 for feeding the uppermost one of the stacked paper sheets to the gate part until it abuts on a low friction face rather than a high friction portion of the feed roller, and a kicker roller 14 located between the feed roller 4 and the preliminary feed means 15, having a high friction portion 14c on part of the periphery face and adapted to be intermittently driven in synchronization with the feed roller. If paper sheets, short in the direction of delivery, exist in the stacked paper sheets and there is a large space between the paper sheet and the gate part, the short paper sheets can be fed to a predetermined delivery possible position by the preliminary feed means 15.
