A plate or flange 12 is secured against shoulders formed in a circular shaft or tube 10 by an end portion of non-circular section 15, by a spring retaining disc 11 of the same shape as the plate 12 and which, by the provision of a peripheral groove 18 in the shaft end near the shoulders, may be rotated into a position in which a series of openings 17 are engaged by projections 16 on the plate 12, intermediate projections deforming the disc 11 so that it is sprung against retaining shoulders on the shaft to prevent axial movement of the members. |
