PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote operation apparatus and its remote operation method, capable of checking the temperature condition of an environment in which an air conditioner is employed. SOLUTION: A remote operation apparatus is one 21, including transmission means K6 for setting air-conditioning control data by an air conditioner and transmitting the air-conditioning control data to the air conditioner. It includes temperature detection means k2 for detecting the ambient temperature; a control means K3 for detecting an abnormal state of the ambient temperature at least under either one condition (detection temperature outside a predetermined range) upon the ambient temperature becoming higher than a predetermined temperature, or on the same becoming lower than the predetermined temperature, on the basis of detected temperature from the temperature detection means K2; and a display means K4 for informing the user of the abnormal state.
