PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an installation structure for a side ditch for a road improving the drainage function and constructing a barrier free passing surface. SOLUTION: This side ditch comprises an approximately U-shaped side ditch block 10 and a cover block 20 to be mounted on a cover receiving step part 14 provided in the insides of the both-side wall upper parts of the side ditch block. A notched recess part 15 is formed in the sidewall upper end part in the road side of the side ditch groove block and L-shaped hand holes 22 with openings 22A, 22B, and 22C in its upper surface side, side face side, and lower face side formed therein are formed in the side end part of the road side of the cover block, and the cover block is so constituted that the opening in the side face side is mounted in a position opposite to the notched recess part of the side ditch block.
