PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reference-position setting device which is of a simple constitution and by which a reference position used to mount a movable member to be moved relatively to a mounting part can be set easily and surely. SOLUTION: The reference position is set by a fixation member 5 with reference to the movable member (an arm member) connected to a measuring object. The fixation member 5 is composed of a body 50 and a protrusion 53 which is formed on the side face on the side of the movement direction of the arm member, it comprises an outer face fitted so as to come into contact with a hole in the arm member, and a slit 54 is formed in parallel with the axis of the hole. The tip of the protrusion 53 is cut toward the side opposite to the movement direction of the arm member, and a chamfered part 55 is formed. The protrusion 53 is arranged in such a way that it is fitted to the hole in the arm member so as to be coupled to the arm member, the reference position of the arm member is set in this state, and the body of the fixation member is fixed to the mounting part in the reference position. When the arm member is turned and driven, the protrusion 53 is broken easily and removed surely.
