PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift-by-wire system to be capable of being reliably shifted to a target position as durability is ensured, in the shift-by-wire system. SOLUTION: In the shift-by-wire system, a shift control means forms a means comprising a memory part to effect memory of a potentiometer value and an inhibitor switch signal at each control period; a change reference part to effect reference of a change of an inhibitor switch signal to indicate a change to a given range preset from the memory part; a range position equivalent value calculating part to calculate to true range position equivalent value by adding or reducing a shift actuator drive amount, equivalent to a half of a range width of a given range, to and from a potentiometer value at a referred change control period; a correction amount computing part to compute a difference between a true range position equivalent value and the target drive amount; and a correction part to correct a target value corresponding to a give range based on a computed correction amount.
