PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-resistant additive for an ink jet recording ink exhibiting excellent light resistance on various colorants (water-soluble colorants and water-insoluble colorants). SOLUTION: The light-resistant additive is a molecule composed of three components or molecular segments and expressed by A-X-B wherein (a) the segment A is an arylsulfonic acid or arylcarboxylic acid of acid form or salt form, optionally having substituents (e.g. benzenesulfonic acid, naphthalene mono- or disulfonic acid, benzoic acid, sodium benzenesulfonate and sodium hydroxybenzenesulfonate) and contributing to the water-solubility and compatibility (superposition of molecules) of the colorant molecule in solid state, (b) the segment B is triazine, benzotriazole, tetrazole or benzimidazole optionally having substituents and contributing to the improvement of the light resistance of the colorant and (c) the segment X is NR or O which connects the segments A and B. |
