PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming device which can form the color image of high quality free of color slurring while suppressing damage to an image carrier due to friction small in spite of long-period use. SOLUTION: The color image forming device has a photoreceptor drum (image carrier) 101 and an intermediate transfer drum (transfer body) 102 which are pressed against each other and driven by frictional transmission and a drum driving motor (driving means) 1 which drives the photoreceptor drum 101 and intermediate transfer drum 102, and is provided with an electromagnetic clutch (driving resetting means) 8 which resets the driving transmission of the drum driving motor 1, and the drum driving motor 1 is disconnected by the electromagnetic clutch 8 in monochromatic image formation mode wherein only monochromatic toner is used and connected by the electromagnetic clutch 8 in color image formation mode wherein toner of >=2 colors is used. |
