PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image drawing device capable of creating display image data indicating a map desired by a user. SOLUTION: In the navigation device Unv, a processor 1 reads directive object data Ddr onto a working area 3 from a storage device 4. The directive object data Ddr comprises a message area and a plain area and indicates a directive object with a plurality of areas directed in different directions by them. The processor 1 determines as to whether to draw the image of the message area of the directive object or draw the image of the plain area on the basis of the present location of the user and the locational relationship with the directive object. The processor 1 draws the opaque image of the message area in the case of the message area, and draws the transparent or semitransparent image of the plain area in the opposite case.
