PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to rapidly measure boron concentration without sampling water. SOLUTION: The measuring apparatus is composed of a neutron source 4 which emits neutron 3 toward an object to be measured 2, a thermal neutron detector 6 which measures the number of thermal neutron 5 generated by the change of the fast neutron 3 in the object to be measured 2, and a judging means 7 which calculates the concentration of the boron contained in the object to be measured 2 on the basis of the measurement result. The neutron source 4 and the thermal neutron detector 6 are installed so as to be slid, and a metallic guide tube with a bottom plate is provided to prevent the object to be measured 2 from invading therein when the apparatus is inserted inside the object to be measured 2.
