PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antistatic agent having excellent compatibility with a resin and heat resistance and capable of affording high antistatic effects even when a small amount is added to the resin. SOLUTION: This antistatic agent comprises a polyether compound represented by general formula (1) wherein, M denotes a residue after removing a hydroxy group from a polyol; A denotes a hydrocarbon; X denotes a halogen atom, hydroxy group, a group represented by OR<1> or a group represented by SO3 Y; (a) denotes a number of 0 or >=1; (b) denotes a number of >=1; and (m) denotes a number of >=2 which is the same number as the valence of M}. The antistatic agent composition is obtained by compounding a low-molecular weight anionic compound with the antistatic agent. The antistatic agent-impregnated material is prepared by impregnating a carrier with the antistatic agent or the antistatic agent composition.
