PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamping device which can quickly, easily clamp a threaded rod with repeatable high accuracy. SOLUTION: The clamping device for clamping the threaded rod 20, which is used as an electrode for eroding a thread, so as to be fixed and not to be rotated comprises a hollow cylindrical rod 1 having a clamping sleeve member 2 at a front end of the clamping device. The clamping sleeve member 2 has a central bore 3 and a rectangular opening 4. A rectangular clamping element 5 is received into the opening in a sliding state and has a threaded portion 11 having some threads, which engage with a threaded portion of the rod to be clamped, on the front surface facing the central bore. In order to move the clamping element 5 toward the threaded rod, a rotate-able collar is provided around the outside of the clamping sleeve member. The rotate-able collar has an inside circular surface having a concave portion 14 gradually expanding in its radial direction. The clamping element projects into this concave portion. |
