PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for preventing an air blow-in nozzle 3 of a combustion melting furnace from clogging with molten slag d. SOLUTION: A combustion melting furnace 1 burns a combustible component b to produce combustion ash, melts the ash to form a molten slag d, deposits and flows down the slag d to the inner wall 1a, and blows combustion air from a plurality of air blow-in nozzles 3 disposed with specified horizontal spacings into the furnace so as to make a revolving flow in the furnace. Air blown from the nozzles 3 is intermittently shut off to melt solidified slag e produced on the openings 9 of the nozzles 3, thereby preventing the nozzles from clogging.
