PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake cover device for an elevator hoist allowing a hoist brake installed in a restricted space to be easily maintained to increase a work efficiency. SOLUTION: An opening part 3 is provided in a hoist frame 1 at a position corresponding to a brake 2, and the brake cover 4 is disposed on the opening part 3. Tightening screws 8 are disposed on the peripheral edge part of the brake cover 4 apart from each other, and a cutout part opening to the edge part of the brake cover 4 is provided in correspondence with at least one of the tightening screws 8. Pressing devices 9 are disposed so as to overlap the brake cover 4 and cover the edge part of the cutout part. The tightening screws 8 are tightened to tighten the brake cover 4 to the frame 1 through the elastic deformation of the pressers 9. Thus, with the tightening screws 8 not present in the areas other than those of the pressers 9, the brake cover 4 is held on the frame 1 by the elastic deformation of the pressers 9 to facilitate the attaching and detaching thereof.
