Recording method

An electrostatographic printing method is provided which comprises the steps of:- 1) Providing a toner bearing image on a receiving material which comprises on a suitable substrate at least one image receiving layer which comprises a particulate thermoplastic polymer which is characterised by an average particle size between about 1 mu m and about 50 mu m and at least one binder; 2) Fusing the toner bearing image and the coating to fix the toner image on the coated substrate. The images produced by the method of the invention have good colour saturation and density together with the uniform surface gloss.
