PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine injection amount adjusting method that adjusts the engine injection amount during engine operation to make up for any difference in properties of fuel used when there is a change in the properties, thereby suppressing a reduction in torque or deterioration of exhaust emissions caused by the change in properties of the fuel used. SOLUTION: An amount of fuel that flows into a cylinder during acceleration is calculated and a change is detected in response to the acceleration in relation to a response made during an acceleration made earlier than the preceding one. If a change is detected, a control parameter of the fuel injection amount is changed so as to offset an advance or a retard in the response to the amount of fuel flowing into the cylinder, thereby adjusting the fuel injection amount. Specifically, if, for example, the response retards, the control parameter that advances the response to the fuel injection amount is selected. If the response advances, on the other hand, the control parameter that retards the response to the fuel injection amount is selected. |
