PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air valve that can be easily disassembled and assembled and can prevent looseness of a nut. SOLUTION: The air valve comprises a spring casing 9 and a cover member 8 disposed over an exhaust hole 3 of a valve casing 5, a diaphragm 7 for forming a pressure chamber 11 between the spring casing 9 and the cover member 8, a diaphragm pressing plate 12 and a spring 13 disposed under the diaphragm 7, a valve stem part 6a having a small diameter air hole 10 for interconnecting the valve casing 5 and the pressure chamber 11, a collar 31 mounted on the valve stem part 6a by means of elastic shrinkage force to lock the diaphragm pressing plate 12, and the nut 32 mounted or threaded on the valve stem part 6a to press the collar 31 axially and fix the diaphragm pressing plate 12 on the valve stem part 6a.
