PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome such a problem that the speed-up of press work machin ery is restricted, the constitution of the press work machinery is made compli cated and becomes larger or the like in the press work machinery which is driven with a crank mechanism. SOLUTION: A vertical motion of the crank mechanism is transmitted to a slide through a link mechanism. The link mechanism is provided with rocking base shafts 21A, 21B, rocking links 22A, 22B, rocking pivots 23A, 23B and lever links 24A, 24B which are pivotally connected to these rocking pivots and a connecting pivot 16 on one side of which is rockable like a balance is pivotally connected to the linearly moving connecting rod 13 of the crank mechanism and connecting pivots 25A, 25B on the other side of which are pivotally connected to slide driving links 41A, 41B. A balance weight 15 is provided on the straight advancing connecting rod 13 attachably and detachably and the moments of mutual forces which act on the connecting pivot 16 and the connecting pivots 25A, 25B are balanced.
