PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and a control method which can shorten the time of both-surface copying (printing) by a simple control sequence. SOLUTION: The image forming device has a latent image carrier 43, a developing means 46, a transfer means 51, fixing means 54 and 55 which perform fixation by at lest heat supply, paper feeding means 9a to 9d which feed a sheet of recording paper toward a transfer area formed between the latent image carrier 43 and transfer means 51, an inverting means 31 which turns over the recording paper having a transferred image fixed on one surface for copying to the other surface, and a cyclic conveyance path which guides the turned-over and carried recording paper to the transfer area again; when images are formed on both the surfaces of the recording paper, a control means for both-surface image formation is switched according to the large/small relation between a set numeral and a specified numeral. |
