PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slat for blind resistant to breaking and bending while satisfactorily keeping the rotatability of the slat. SOLUTION: This slat 16 comprises an elevating cord insert hole 16a for inserting an elevating cord formed therein. When the slat lateral directional length of the insert hole 16a is b, the slat width is (a), and the slat arrow height is e, b/a satisfies the expression: 0.59.e/a+0.19<=b/a<=-1.41.e/a+0.70, and a projection 16g protruded over the general surface 16e of the slat is formed across the extension line of the elevating cord insert hole 16a connecting the slat lateral directional edge part 16a of the insert hole 16a to the slat lateral directional edge part 16c of the slat 16.
